So far we have 17 paid riders and a handful of volunteers so this year’s event is shaping up! I sent the welcome email and some details to the most recent addition just this morning. And over the last week, as work allows, I’ve been fine tuning the rally rules for publication. I hope to have them done in the next couple of days.
But first I need to pull the tank on the FJR and check a couple things then take it in for a service and valve check. The last day of the Iron Butt Rally I rolled through 100,000 miles on the beast. I need to check the front tire but I’m pretty sure it’ll make it through the IBA’s Big as Texas Party and Saddle Sore next month. After that little trip I will certainly need a new front tire.
I had a nice evening yesterday catching up with an old FJR buddy, talking rallies, gatherings, and community in general. It’s always great to catch up and toss around new ideas for entertaining/challenging riders.
